Japan’s prime minister, Shinzo Abe resigns due to growing health concerns.
PM Abe, said in an official statement to the media. PM Abe was the longest-serving Japanese PM.
Abe had previously resigned during his first term in 2007 owing to the diagnosis of ulcerative colitis, which he had informed later in 2012.
Government spokesperson, Yoshihide Suga recently informed the masses that the political leader will soon be “all right”. He further added that Abe would “of course” be able to serve out the rest of his term. The term ends in September 2021.
The unexpected news has sent the Tokyo stocks sinking by more than 2%.
