Democratic candidate Joe Bidden running for US presidential elections 2020, chose Kamala Harris as his vice-presidential running mate on Tuesday.
Although Harris identifies as black, she is the first black and Indian American to get a major US party ticket.
Bidden had declared on twitter on, “I have the great honor to announce that I’ve picked @KamalaHarris — a fearless fighter for the little guy, and one of the country’s finest public servants — as my running mate.”
Shortly after Biden had announced his decision on social media, Harris also came out in support of bidden and affirmed that she was “honored” to join him as party nominee.
“@JoeBiden can unify the American people because he’s spent his life fighting for us. And as president, he’ll build an America that lives up to our ideals. I’m honored to join him as our party’s nominee for Vice President, and do what it takes to make him our Commander-in-Chief.” read Harris’s tweet.
Donald Trump in response to the notice said he was surprised by Bidden’s pick after she (Harris) had done so poorly in primaries. He further went so far ahead as to accuse the fresh nominee as, “the meanest, the most horrible, the most disrespectful of anybody in the US Senate.”
