Rajasthan Royals started their campaign with a remarkable victory over Chennai super kings in Sharjah.
After putting a massive score of 217 runs on board, RR’s bowling attack was successful in restricting the opponent.
It was a high scoring game in which total 33 sixes were hit, 17 by RR and 16 by CSK.
RR’s wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson smashed a 19-ball half-century, he scored 74 off just 32 balls, including nine terrific sixes.
Skipper Steve Smith(69), and Samson(74), added 121 runs in just 9.2 overs.
After the dismissal of Samson, RR faced collapse as they lost six wickets in just 6.2 overs. But Jofra Archer(27*off 8 balls) took the command and smashed four consecutive sixes in the final over and took Rajasthan to a massive score of 217.
Chasing a big target, CSK finished their inning at a score of 200/6.
Faf Du Plessis once again played a brilliant inning of 72 off 37 balls and pushed CSK a bit closer to the target.
For RR, Rahul Tewatia took three wickets for 37 runs in 4 overs.
The young squad played a composed game and gave a good start to Royals in the tournament.
