KXIP had registered the biggest win of the season over RCB who lost the game with a big difference of 97 runs while chasing a massive target of 207 runs. RCB’S skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to take the advantage of dew factor in Dubai by electing to bowl first.
But it was not a good day for the Bangalore team as they performed weakly in all departments.
Giving a great start to Punjab, skipper KL Rahul made some humongous records in the game. He scored 132 off just 69 deliveries and completed his century in just 62 balls after Virat Kohli dropped his catch twice in the match.
The star batsman smashed the first hundred of IPL 2020, this also was the highest-ever score by an Indian in the history of Indian premier league.
Rahul also became the fastest Indian batsman to reach 2,000 IPL runs in just 60 innings.
With this phenomenal inning by Punjab’s skipper, they made up to a grand total of 206 runs on board.
Banglore was nowhere in the game from the start of their innings, the openers Devdutt Padikkal and Aaron Finch departed early as the fast bowlers Sheldon Cottrell and Mohammad Shami took the complete control over the RCB squad in the first half.
The star players, Kohli and De-villiers also failed to give a momentum to the team. Taking things in the favor of KXIP, Murugan Ashwin (3-21) and Ravi Bishnoi (3-32), delivered an incredible spell.
And with this stellar performance from Punjab’s bowling line-up, RCB got restricted to a total of 109 runs and KXIP marked their first victory in the season.
