The sad demise of Telugu superstar Jayaprakash Reddy marks a black day in the history of south Indian cinema. Reddy passed away on the morning of Tuesday following a collapse caused by a heart stroke.
Jayaprakash Reddy was 74 years old and had acted in over 100 Telugu films. He was best known for his wicked negative roles as an actor. Reddy had been staying in his hometown since a few months owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Popularly known as JP made a big name in the industry following the break given to him by Preminchukundam Raa while he had initially entered the industry as a comedian in 1997.
The actor had collapsed in his bathroom at his house in Guntur during the early hours of Tuesday.
The fans flooded the internet with grief and nostalgia over the sad news. TDP (Telugu Desam Party) chief N Chandrababu Naidu also offered his condolences on Twitter. “Telugu cinema and theatre have lost a gem today with the demise of Jayaprakash Reddy Garu.
His versatile performances over several decades have given us many memorable cinematic moments. My heart goes out to his family and friends in this hour of grief. #JayaPrakashReddy” he wrote.
