Early 2000s TV Star Sameer Sharma found dead in Mumbai house, Cops suspect suicide

A popular face from the early 2000s TV shows such as “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi” and “Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki”, Sameer Sharma was found hanging in his Mumbai flat. On Wednesday, the body was first discovered by a security guard who subsequently alerted the other members of the building.

The police suspect the death to be suicide. However, no note regarding the same has been discovered from the site.

Senior inspector, George Fernandes from Malad police station said, “We have registered a case of accidental death (ADR) and sent his body to a government hospital for autopsy,”

sources reveal that the actor was staying on the first floor of Neha CHS building, Ahinsa Marg in Malad (west) since February.  More investigation into the alleged suicide follows.

This news comes in nearly two months after Bollywood actor, Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide shook the masses and sparked a debate on the stigma associated with mental health issues in India.

Sameer Sharma was condoled on social media by numerous actors such as Sidharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan, and Shweta Rohira.

His last Instagram post leaves the fans teary-eyed

“Really sad and unfortunate. #RIPSameerSharma,” read an Instagram post by Sidharth Malhotra.
