Star cricketer Yuvraj Singh had announced his retirement from world cricket during the 2019 World Cup. According to the latest sources, the player has now allegedly expressed his inclination to play cricket for Punjab following a two-year break. Yuvraj was reportedly inspired after mentoring Indian domestic players in Punjab.
“I enjoyed spending time with these youngsters, and talking to them about various aspects of the game, I realized that they were able to pick up various things that I was telling them,” Yuvraj informed Cricbuzz.
“I had to get into the nets to show them a few other elements, and I was pleasantly surprised at how well I was hitting the ball even though I hadn’t held a bat for a really long time,” he added.
The renowned cricketer’s career had taken a hiccup back in 2012 when he was diagnosed with cancer. However, following his recovery, Yuvraj returned in 2013 and played in the 2016 T20 World Cup and 2017 Champions Trophy.
