Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain complains about the irregularities of RML Hospital

In a recent bulletin, Delhi health minister Satyender Jain informed that Dr Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital doesn’t give test reports on time. 70% of patients are dying within 24 hours of reaching the hospital as their test reports come in 5-7 days.

“This is absolutely wrong, reports should come within 24 hours,” he said.

He also said that Sixty-one private hospitals had been ordered to reserve 20 per cent beds for COVID-19 patients.

“Recently, RML Hospital tested 94% samples as positive in a day, on re-testing, we found 45% of these to be negative. I have asked the Union Health Minister to fix this casual approach,” Jain added.

Earlier reports came that RML gave erroneous test reports on COVID 19.

As per the protocol, the Delhi government re-tests random samples from time to time to maintain the certainty of the tests. Recently, it took 30 samples from RML Hospital for re-testing, which were declared to be positive by the hospital.

Reportedly, by June 3, there are 23,645 COVID-19 registered cases with 615 deaths. The death rate stands at 2.6%.

To ensure enough beds, AAP led Delhi Govt. have 5 Govt. and 6 private dedicated COVID-19 hospitals. Out of which 3 new private hospitals added yesterday.

On June 2, Arvind Kejriwal launched an app called Delhi Corona to track COVID-19 hospital beds and ventilators.
