According to a statement by PMO on twitter, Prime minister Modi will be financing a facility of Rs. 1 lakh crore under the Agricultural Infrastructure Fund tomorrow via a video conference. In addition, he will also be releasing the sixth installment of funds under the PM- KISAN scheme. This will include Rs. 17,000 crores for about 8 crore farmers.
These funds are expected to be used for the management of a post-harvest infrastructure and farming assets including cold storage, processing units, and more. The release will intend to enable a greater value of produce by ensuring reduced waste and enhanced productivity.
“The PM will launch a financing facility of Rs 1 lakh crore under the Agricultural Infrastructure Fund on August 9 at 11 am via video conferencing. He will also release the sixth installment of funds of Rs. 17,000 crore to 8.5 crore farmers under the PM-KISAN scheme,” the tweet by PMO read.
According to the data collected by the Agriculture ministry, the PM-KISAN scheme has so far, benefitted over 9 crore farmers since its launch in December 2018.
Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare will be amongst the list of spectators for tomorrow’s funding.
