A day after his virtual interaction with the country’s chief ministers on tackling the Covid-19 menace, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation today.
The PM announced a special economic relief package for the nation that will amount to ₹20 lakh crore which is nearly 10% of GDP. Beginning Wednesday, the finance minister will announce details of the mega economic package.
“The special economic package will have emphasis on land, labour, liquidity and laws”, said Modi
Earlier today, Modi approved ex gratia of ₹2 lakh each to the kin of the 16 migrant labourers who were run over by a goods train in Maharashtra’s Aurangabad on May 8.
Modi also added that India will enter lockdown 4.0 with new guidelines. The details of the extension will be announced on 17th May.
