In a new, Google has taken down the popular e-commerce app, PayTM from the Google Play Store on Friday. The move came after Paytm allegedly violated the company’s gambling policy. for allegedly violating the company’s gambling policy. Vice President at Android Security and Privacy, Suzanne Frey informed that Google does not allow any online casinos or support any unregulated gambling/ betting apps. She further added that the policies include apps that might lead consumers to an external website to participate in betting for real money.
Paytm released a public message on Twitter informing the users about the recent development. The app has ensured that the customer’s money is safe and they can continue with their transactions.
“Dear Paytm’ers, Paytm Android app is temporarily unavailable on Google’s Play Store for new downloads or updates. It will be back very soon. All your money is completely safe, and you can continue to enjoy your Paytm app as normal,” the tweet read.
The spokesperson explained that Paytm was one of the several apps which were taken down for violating the gambling policies. Paytm will be allowed on Google play once the app complies with the company’s policies. The spokesperson had additionally emphasized that in case of repeated violation, more serious action will be taken against the app.
