ex-navy officer trashed by Shiv Sena workers meets Maharashtra Governor today

Indian navy veteran,  Madan Sharma was recently attacked by Shiv Sena workers after he shared a cartoon on Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray in a residential WhatsApp group. Following his assault, the veteran met Maharashtra Governor, Bhagat Singh Koshyari today to seek the dismissal of the Sena government.  

Madan was accompanied by BJP chief Mangal Prabhat Lodha and MLA Atul Bhatkhalkar on his visit to the governor. Madan later informed the media that the governor has promised to act on his memorandum.

“I told him (Governor) of the incident. Sections under which the accused were booked are weak. Governor assured he will take action on my memorandum,” Sharma told sources.

Six individuals having links with the shiv Sena government were arrested earlier but were subsequently provided bail.  The accused have been re-arrested on different charges now. The victim has also been supported by Rajnath Singh and union minister Ramdas Athawale.

Madan Sharma has also declared that he is now with “BJP-RSS”. “When I was beaten up, they had leveled allegations that I am with BJP-RSS. So now I announce, that I am with BJP-RSS today onwards,” he said in a statement.
