Lashkar-e-Taiba hideouts busted, army practices full dress rehearsals in Kashmir ahead of Independence day

On Wednesday, security forces busted two terrorist hide-outs from the Awantipora area of Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir. An associate linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba was also arrested.

The accused was allegedly providing shelter and other logistics to the LeT in various areas of the UT. A case has been filed against Sahil Farooq Mir, the accused under relevant sections of the constitution.

A large cache of ammunition and explosives was discovered from the site. The news comes in big ahead of the independence day celebrations on 15th August.

In addition, the celebration of the 74th independence day witnessed full dress rehearsals in various parts of the country including J&K and the quintessential Red fort. The forces marched while keeping COVID-19 guidelines in mind.

Soldiers in Delhi were seen marching in the rain with proper masks while following social distancing measuring.
