India’s COVID19 tally crosses 4 lakh with 15,413 single day spike

With COVI19 cases increasing constantly everyday India has crossed the 4 lakh total mark in COVID19 cases. India has crossed the unfortunate milestone after nearly five months after the first case was reported on the 30th of January.

Out of total 4,10,461 number of cases, 2,27,755 are active cases, and 2,27,755 have been recovered from the deadly virus. The death rate continues to be above the 3% mark at 3.3%. There have been 13,254 deaths so far. Recoveries have improved than what it used to be – it’s more than 54% now.

The first COVID19 infection case was identified in India when a student from Wuhan, China had travelled to Kerala.

The number of tests done per day has also been increased. In the last 24 hours, 1,90,730 samples have been tested.

The new active cases that have been reported in the last 24 hours is 15,413, which is the highest ever recorded in a single day. 306 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.

Maharashtra, Delhi and Tamilnadu remain the worst-hit states with the maximum number of confirmed cases. Gujarat, Tamilnadu and Telangana are under the radar of the government as far as the containment zones are concerned.
