India records highest single-day spike Of 12,881 COVID19 cases

In the highest single-day spike in COVID cases, India has registered 12,881 new cases in the last 24 hours. 334 deaths have has been recorded, taking the total death toll to 12,237.

The total number of COVID19 cases in the country now stands at 3,66,946 with 1,60,384 active cases. The mortality rate remains over 3% mark at 3.3% while the recovery rate is now at 53%.

Delhi, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu are the worst-hit states contributing maximum to the total numbers. The death figures have increased after the BMC and the Delhi Government have done a reconciliation exercise. The death rate in Delhi is at 4% and in Maharashtra 4.8%.

Globally, India is the 4th worst COVID19 hit nation.
