Amid the stiffing Indo-China border tensions, Chinese construction activities were recently observed near the Uttrakhand border. Sources informed the construction of “Hut-like structures” being carried out on the Chinese side of the border, near the Tinkar-Lipu pass of Nepal.
“It was also found that China is engaged in construction activities on the Chinese side of the General Area of Jojo village, Champa Maidan. The Jojo village is approximately seven to eight kilometers from Tinkar-Lipu pass of Nepal,” said sources.
As a result, the Indian security agencies are keeping a strict watch on the movement of Chinese People’s Liberation Army troops near Uttarakhand. On the other hand, it was informed that the Nepal government had also issued directions to the Nepalese Armed Police Force (NAPF) to closely monitor the activities of the Indian Army activities in the general area of Lipulekh. Additionally, 44 battalions of the NAPF has been deployed.
India and China have been locked in a more than four-month-long standoff while china had recently changed the status quo on the Line of Actual Control at various places, moving inside Indian territories. India has objected while the countries are trying to resolve the conflict.
