Another Dalit woman dies following gang-rape in Uttar Pradesh’s Balrampur

A 22-yr-old Dalit woman succumbed to death after she was allegedly gang-raped by two men in Balrampur village in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. The incident partook on Tuesday when the girl had gone to take admission in a college near her village.

According to the superintendent of police of Balrampur, Dev Ranjan Verma the girl was brought home in a rickshaw with a glucose drip inserted in her hand while her family members were searching for her.

The latest development on the incident reveals that the victim was cremated on Wednesday night itself following a post-mortem done by a panel of four doctors. The family members of the victim have stated that the girl has severe fracture and injuries and was hence, rushed to the nearest hospital. However, the police have denied these claims.

Following an FIR complaint by the victim’s brother, the accused have been arrested. The accused have been booked under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 376-D for gang rape and 302 for murder.

The news comes after another Dalit woman was gang-raped by four mean in Hathras, UP on Tuesday. Her death has since triggered a major outcry in the country.
