Home Minister Amit Shah and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal met at the Ministry of Home Affairs to discuss the National Capital’s response to coronavirus.
This is the second meeting between Shah and Kejriwal in less than a week. Today’s meeting, which began at 11 am, was also attended by Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, Dr Randeep Guleria, Director of AIIMS and members of the State Disaster Management Authority.
Shah told during the meeting that the Modi govt is committed to controlling the spread of COVID19 in Delhi. Today, several important decisions were taken to protect the people of Delhi & to prevent this infection.
Home Minister said the testing for COVID19 to be doubled in the next couple of days in Delhi and in 6 days, tripled.
For the treatment of COVID19 in private hospitals in Delhi, a committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Dr Paul to provide 60% of the COVID beds in private hospitals at a low rate, to fix corona treatment & COVID testing which will submit its report by tomorrow: HM
In view of the shortage of beds for COVID19 patients in Delhi, Modi govt at Center has decided to immediately give 500 railway coaches to Delhi. These railway coaches won’t only increase 8000 beds in Delhi but these coaches will be equipped with all facilities to fight COVID19, said the Home Minister.
The Government of India has fully assured the Government of Delhi to make available necessary resources like oxygen cylinders, ventilators, pulse oximeters and all other requirements to fight this epidemic, he added.
To provide correct information & guidelines for COVID19 to small hospitals in Delhi, the centre has decided to constitute a committee of senior doctors for telephonic guidance in AIIMS. The helpline number will be released tomorrow.
“To be able to do contact mapping well in Delhi’s containment zones, a comprehensive health survey of every person will be done from house to house. The report will come in 1 week. Arogya Setu app will be downloaded in every person’s mobile,” Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
After a few days, COVID19 testing will be started at every polling station in the containment zones in Delhi: Shah.
“Extremely productive meeting between Delhi govt and Central govt. Many key decisions are taken. We will fight against corona together,” said Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
