Home minister Amit shah who was earlier said to be diagnosed with COVID-19 was discharged from the hospital two weeks ago. Shortly after his release, Shah has been re-admitted to All India Institute for Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for breathing-related issues on Monday.
The AIIMS authorities are however yet to confirm the news. according to sources the home minister was admitted to the hospital on Saturday at 11 p.m. and is being treated by the director of AIIMS, Dr. Randeep Guleria. ]
Shah had previously been admitted to the Medanta Hospital in Gurugram on 2nd August after being diagnosed by COVID-19. He was discharged after testing negative on August 14. He had been suffering from post-COVID ailments for over a month and was finally re-admitted yesterday.
India currently has the second-highest number of coronavirus cases in the world shortly behind the US. Saturday alone marked a single day surge of over 95,000 positive cases in the nation. Additionally, there have been about 78,000 COVID related deaths so far.
