Zoomcar data breach: 3.5 million user details for sale

According to a report by ET Tech, 3.5 million user data of India’s largest self-drive car rental company Zoomcar is up for sale on the dark web. 

The hacker is selling the data which included names, email ids, passwords, mobile numbers and IP addresses for $300.

“The hacker has been privately selling the data for $300, but now he has made it public on the Dark Web,” said Rajshekhar Rajaharia, the cybersecurity consultant who alerted Zoomcar about the hacker’s plan – ET Tech quoted.

Zoomcar has clarified that there has been no data brach.

All Zoomcar data, including user's passwords, are encrypted with strong algorithms that make it impossible for anyone to access. Please be assured that your data is absolutely secured with us.
